Principal News

From The Principal's Desk

From the Principal’s Desk for the final time in 2018

As Principal of Point Cook P-9 College, I am extremely proud of our shared achievements this year. Thank you and congratulations for being part of another outstanding and successful year. Take the time to congratulate your children on a great year they have had and encourage them to keep improving and doing their best.

We have concluded our 9th year as a College and we continue to flourish in all aspects of school operation, providing an excellent educational program for students in Point Cook. In 2019 we look forward to celebrating our 10th Anniversary. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate our vision of ‘creating tomorrow today’.

This year we launched and implemented the first year of our new Strategic Plan. We have focused on student achievement paying particular attention to student growth, not only academically but also socially and emotionally. There has been a whole school focus on reading improvement and developing and maintaining a positive school climate.  Our system level results have indicated significant improvement in our focus areas.

As a learning community, we have definitely embraced our Whole School Positive Behaviour Framework. ‘At Point Cook College we develop academically, socially and emotionally within a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.’

Our students are the reason we do what we do and they are to be credited and congratulated on their efforts and positive attitude in achieving and in many cases surpassing their learning goals. The College staff are to be acknowledged for their endless commitment and professionalism in their various roles as educators, administrators, student councillors and leaders. Their ongoing passion to making Point Cook College an engaging and motivating learning environment for all really inspires me.

Last Tuesday afternoon, I had the pleasure of hosting an afternoon tea to say thank you to the countless parents, relatives and friends who have given up their valuable time during the year to support staff and students with learning. Thank you! Your efforts are truly appreciated by all staff and students.

Parent Friends Association (PFA)
