We are Learners
Be Fantastic Beat Plastic!
Congratulations to the College Environmental Leaders who demonstrated exemplary leadership skills on World Environment Day on Tuesday. The College was a wash of blue, spreading awareness of the necessary need to recycle plastics and remove them from our water ways.
Thank you parents of all the students who participated in the Indonesian Speech Competition at Melbourne University on Saturday the 2nd of June. Well done and great effort to all of our students. It was wonderful to see you all demonstrating your learning and representing our College. You all looked amazing in your uniforms. I wish you well with your results.
Tournament of Minds commences next term, it is another extra curricular opportunity that our students from years 3-9 have to participate in. Over the course of the rest of the term, teachers will be working with students, introducing them to what Tournament of Minds is all about and seeking their interest in participation. It would great to see as many students as possible involved. If you would like more information about the process yourself please navigate through the following website: https://www.tom.edu.au/
It was great to see many of our year 5/6 students participating in our Indonesian Market as a part of their Indonesian program. By all accounts the students enjoyed the process and even got a bargain or two!
We are Respectful
Congratulations to all our year 5 and 6 students who participated in their athletics carnival last Monday. Fortunately, the weather held out, whilst it was brisk, all students had a fantastic day. The students demonstrated high levels of respect and sportsmanship competing for their houses. Well done to Edwards, who took the winning points on the day. Congratulations to those students who were successful enough to make it through to the regional athletics carnival later in the year.
Well done to all the year 6 students who represented our College at the Year 6 Interschool Sports Carnivals on Monday. It was amazing to hear about the tales of close games and more importantly the sportsmanship that you all demonstrated. Congratulations and well done to all teams and good luck to the teams who made it through to the next round. Go Point Cook!!!
We are Responsible
Thank you to all the students in year 3 and 4 who have been responsible and returned their Music Bus expression of interest forms. This is a great opportunity for our year 1-4 students who will have the opportunity to participate in an instrumental music program. Matt from the Music Bus cannot wait to get started and will be contacting families shortly.
Thank you to all of our Point Cook Family and Friends who support our House Assembly on Wednesday morning. Well done to the house captains who ran the assemblies. You all demonstrate a great deal of pride and responsibility through running your assemblies.
Reminder that Monday the 11th of June is Queen’s Brithday Public Holiday. We hope that families get to spend the day together.
We are Safe
Unfortunately of late I have seen many students in our College uniform not wearing their helmets when riding bikes and scooters. At Point Cook College ‘we are safe’ and we ask that all students wear the appropriate protective gear when riding. It is against the law not to wear a helmet when riding a bike. Please ensure that we do this.
