Welcome our new families to Point Cook, we hope that you have enjoyed your start at the College and trust that you are finding your way. We have a wonderful community at the College who are always willing to help, please don't hesitate to ask if you require answers.
On Friday at Assembly I reminded students about how exciting term 4 can be. It is a term that is full of lots of activities both at the College and in their social lives as we moved towards the end of year celebrations. I encouraged them to uphold our College Values of We are Learners, Respectful, Responsible and Safe to ensure that their last term of the year is positive. I ask that as a family you have similar discussions with your children.
We are Learners
Our year 5/6 students have been learning about our Parliament, its structure and how it operates on a local, state and federal basis. To further their learning the teachers and students embarked on a journey to Canberra in weeks 2 and 3. This not only enabled our students to strengthen their understandings but also gave them the opportunity to see our nation's capital and all the things it offers. The students enjoyed visiting Parliament House, the Australian Institute of Sport and The War Memorial just to name a few. It was a fantastic experience, one that I hope they will remember for a long time.
Thank you especially to Mrs. Julie Ryan and Mrs. Amanda O'Malley for their leadership of the tours, further thanks also go to the teachers who attend and support the tours.
We are Respectful
Well done to all our Year 3 students who have demonstrated high levels of respect when participating in Australian Rules Football clinics run by the North Melbourne Football Club. The students are focusing on the skills required to play the game whilst learning the team sport. It has been great to see the students engaged and demonstrating high levels of respect to our visitors.
We are Responsible
Thank you to all Primary students who demonstrated high levels of responsibility at both assemblies this term. The students are amazing at finding their class sign and move hastily at the end of lunchtime in anticipation for the commencement of the assembly. Well done to you all, you certainly are making assemblies very enjoyable.
We are Safe
A very big reminder that Term 4 is a hat wearing term. This is one way we can all follow our expected behaviour of keeping safe. Please remind your children to wear their hats to assist in protecting them from the sun's harmful rays.
