Prep to Year 4 Camping Programs

Extra Curricular Activities Calendar

Point Cook College is having a Book Fair on the 25th, 26th and 27th of October and we would love some parent helpers to help out before and after school if possible. If you are able to help out, please see Sonja Faust in the library as soon as possible.

On Friday at our Twilight Market, our Prep to Year Two Musical Theatre Group performed on stage. It was delightful to see so many of our students having the confidence to perform in front of a crowd and thoroughly enjoy themselves. I would like to thank two of our teachers who managed all of the performances on the night – Rebecca Clark and Annika Kononen.

All of our Year One and Two students were fortunate enough to have an incursion led by the staff from Ceres – Centre for Education and Research in Environmental Strategies. It was a wonderful incursion, which had strong links to their Inquiry unit and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Our Prep students are really looking forward to their excursion to Scienceworks. Four grades will go on Thursday the 3rd of November (Preps C, D, G and H) and the other four grades will go on Friday the 4th of November.

This is just a reminder about the Year Two, Four and Year Nine Pathways Concert, which is taking place on the 22nd of November. All students and staff involved have put many hours of hard work into this concert and all students are very excited to be a part of this great show. We look forward to seeing many parents sharing this special event with us.

This is the first year all students in years Prep to Four will be taking part in a camping program.

On the 24th and 25th of November, it will be the Year Three Camping Program.

The Year Four Camping Program will be on the 5th and 6th of December.

The Prep to Year Two Camping Program will be on the 15th and 16th of December.

If you need extra information about these programs, please see your child’s homeroom teacher. Further notes and information will follow.

It is important to constantly check the Extra Curricular Activities Calendar, which is on the College Website as it does get updated when new activities are planned. On the website, you will find it under the following:

• Click on Our College

• Click on College Policies & Accountabilites in the drop down tab

• You will then see the word Plans in blue and the third dot point under plans you will see the calendar

2017 Prep Transition

Important Teaching, Assessment and Reporting Term

Extra Curricular Activities Calendar

This is just a reminder to all families, who have children starting in Prep next year. Our 2017 Prep Transition Program starts this Friday. If you have a child who is starting in prep next year, but have not enrolled them, now is the time to do so. Please see one of the ladies in our front office to get the enrolment forms. If you are undecided, please read the link on school readiness.

This is the last term of this school year and it is a long, but very important Teaching and Learning term. There will be a lot of new curriculum content taught as well as a lot of revision of content already covered. Assessments will be ongoing and there will be a final report close to the end of the term. It is therefore essential that all students attend school as well as get to school on time. Please assist us with this and ensure that all students attend unless they are unwell.

Please continue to refer to the Extra Curricular Activities Calendar as it is continually updated with important upcoming events.
