We are Learners
Well done and congratulations to all year 3 and 5 students who have participated in NAPLAN last week. It was wonderful to see many of you doing your best on the day. Thank you to all the teachers who supported our students through the process. We look forward to seeing the results later in the year.
Congratulations to the Prep team who went on their very first school excursion to the farm this week. The students learned about how a farm operates, including what it takes to look after multiple animals. It was wonderful hearing about all of the student's stories and what a great time they had at the farm.
On Tuesday the 29th of May we are hosting a Prep – 2 parent helper seminar. Correspondence in relation to this has been sent home. We would love to have as many prep – 2 parents in attendance as possible. This will give you an opportunity to learn about how you can assist your child at home as well as learning about how you can assist in our classrooms.
World Environment Day is on June the 5th. Students will be learning about how to save the environment with a focus on recycling and reducing the use of plastic. Further correspondence about the day will come out via compass closer to the event.
We are Respectful
Congratulations to all our year 3 and 4 students who participated in their athletics carnival last Monday. Fortunately, the weather held out, whilst it was brisk, the sun shone and all students had a fantastic day. The students demonstrated high levels of respect and sportsmanship competing for their houses. Well done to Middleton, who took the winning points on the day. Congratulations to those students who were successful enough to make it through to the regional athletics carnival later in the term.
We are Responsible
Thank you to all the students in year 1 and 2 who have been responsible and returned their Music Bus expression of interest forms. This is a great opportunity for our year 1-4 students who will have the opportunity to participate in an instrumental music program. The year 3 and 4 students had the opportunity to tour the bus today and from all reports had a great time. Year 3 and 4 students please ensure you return your expression of interest forms as soon as you can.
We are Safe
It has been wonderful to see many of our students continuing to still participate in active travel to school, walk and wheel Wednesdays as the weather starts to cool down. Thank you to everyone who is traveling safely and using the school crossings. Remember they are here to keep us safe, we strongly encourage everyone to use them.

Do you know what Kasti is? Ask your children. As a part of our Indonesian program, our 5/6 students hosted students from another school in a friendly game of Kasti. It was fantastic to see the students taking on the role of host and demonstrating our expected behaviours. Thanks to the LOTE team for organising such a wonderful event.
Well done to all the students who participated in the Indonesian Speech competition, what a fantastic way to encourage our students to engage with another language. Thanks to the LOTE team for running a successful event. It was great to see the students engage in the process.
Congratulations to the students who participated in the 4-6 District Cross Country. Well done to all competitors and best of luck to those students who have managed to make it through to the next round. It was great to hear that our students demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Thanks to Camp Quality for hosting our Prep to year 2 students on Wednesday. Thanks to all of you who sent in a gold coin donation to support their education program. It was great to see the students engaged with the puppet show.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there, we hope that your day is full of the joy and happiness and that your children spoil you! Thank you for supporting the College Mother’s Day stall and for those of you with children in Prep -2 for joining us for an afternoon of pampering. It was great to see many of you throughout the afternoon.
I look forward to hopefully joining some of you down at the Athletics track next Monday to join in the fun with the year 3 and 4 students. Family and friends are welcome to come down and watch their children throughout the day. Be sure to wear your child’s house colours and join in the fun.
NAPLAN is in week 5 and our teachers and students have been preparing, we hope that you also value the process that we have put in place. All we ask is that our students do their very best and that we in partnership support them through the process.
