Indonesian News Semester 1

Prep

This semester Prep students will be exposed to Comprehensible Indonesian through the use of mini-stories, songs, games and TPR (Total Physical Response). The focus will be on acquiring high frequency words such as:

nama

ya

tidak

ada

mau

saya

Years 1 – 2

saya = I am, me, my

ada = there is

mau =want

punya = have

ke = go to

di = at, in, on

beri = give

Year 3 (3A, 3TJ and 3MK)

This semester Year 3 students will be exposed to Comprehensible Indonesian through the use of mini-stories, songs, games and TPR (Total Physical Response). The focus will be on acquiring the ‘Tujuh Teman’ (Seven Friends) that are very important high frequency words upon which future stories will be based. The ‘Tujuh Teman’ are:

saya = I am, me, my

ada = there is

mau =want

punya = have

ke = go to

di = at, in, on

beri = give

Students will also become familiar with high frequency adjectives, verbs, nouns, exclamations and question words such as:

Berapa = How many

Apa = What

Siapa = Who

Mana = Where
