School Day Arrangements
School will be finishing at 2pm on Friday 24 November and we ask that parents/carers arrive on time to collect your child/ren from class. YMCA will still be operating as usual for students to go to after school care. If you would like to book your child/ren into YMCA, please contact them directly.
Wristbands / Tickets
Wristbands can be purchased from the college office or on Compass for an early bird cost of $45.00 up until Friday 17 November. Wristbands purchased after this date will be available for $50.00 from the office or on the day of the carnival at the information booth. Tickets can also be purchased for $1.00 each however the wristbands are better value for money!
Wirstbands or tickets (varied amount) will be needed for the below activities:
- Rides
- Art Show
- Glow Show
- Entertainment
Stalls
We have locked in a range of stall holders including some external companies but also some which will be ran by our staff and students! A full list of stall holders will be available soon!
Rides
The rides we have secured for the Carnival have been arranged for a variety of ages. Please note, to go on a ride, you must have a wristband or have the specific amount of tickets for that particular ride. The rides are:
Entertainment
Art Show – students and staff have worked hard to develop artwork to display and sell at the Art Show. Parents/Carers can purchase their child’s artwork for 1 ticket if they would like to keep it. A number of group pieces will be up for silent auction where anyone can place their bid.
Glow Show – the glow show is a specialist exhibition where students and staff have used creative methods to develop interesting pieces that glow in the dark. Have your wits about you when you go into this exhibition as it the room is completely blackened!
Petting Zoo – don’t we all love a petting zoo! Children get to enjoy the comforts of being with animals and learn how to interact with them gently and caringly.
Laughing Clowns – the laughing clowns are your typical carnival attraction. Prizes are up for grabs for those who perfect the game!
Dance Party – designed for those who simply want to come and enjoy what the carnival has to offer without the cost of the major rides and attractions. Children and Adults alike can step into the dance party and have a little boogie before returning to the excitement of the rest of the Carnival!
Performances – we have two performances, one from Point Cook College at 3:00pm and another from Point Cook Dance at 5:00pm.
Food and Drink
We are bringing you a huge variety of food and drink vendors to keep you fed and hydrated throughout the evening! There will be snacks, beverages, dinner options and treats as well as a Devonshire Tea.
We will be announcing the Food and Drink vendors soon!
Traffic and Parking
Traffic in the surrounding streets may be congested throughout the afternooon from school pick-up at 2:00pm until 7:00pm when the Carnival concludes. We ask all families to give thought to how they will travel to the carnival and whether driving is necessary. If you decide to drive, please exercise caution within the vicinity of the college and consider the properties of our neighbouring residents when deciding on where to park.
