PCC Bulletin - Term 3, Week 1

Principals Message

Welcome back, I hope you all enjoyed the holiday break.

I would like to start by updating you all with a change in our current communication strategy. As part of our school review, it was identified that one of our areas of improvement is around the communication with the school community. As such we have decided to send out a weekly bulletin- via Compass. School newsletters will now be reduced to 2 per term and the bulletins will become the most current and up to date communication tool. Compass, seesaw and other communication tools will still be used, however we hope that a weekly update will ensure that everyone is aware of the happenings around the school.

Please note we have tweaked the daily schedules and placed P-4 on one schedule and 5-9 on another schedule. The updated schedule is published within this briefing.

We would like to congratulate Lizzie Tout on being appointed to the Acting Principal Position at Alfredton Primary School.  Lizzie will return to PCC in Term 4.

We would like to welcome the following staff to PCC;

Matt Wilkinson: Learning Specialist Athlete Development Program (additional info coming soon)

Arta Redzep: Year ½ teacher

Scott Mullin: Food Technology

Gaele Joson: Education Support

Tara Parker: Education Support

Helen Gilmore: 7-9 Maths Teacher

Finally, we find ourselves in yet another ‘circuit breaker’. We hope that this will only be a 5 day lockdown and students will return to school on Wednesday 21st July. Information was sent out via compass today in regards to who is eligible for on-site supervision. Please check your compass posts for this information if you believe you are eligible.

General News

Parent Helpers

We are currently seeking interest from parents/guardians to assist with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen and the Stephanie Alexander Garden. Parent helpers can also be of assistance in the classroom. If working in a classroom, the garden or the kitchen interests you, please contact us and let us know via email, point.cook.p9.co@education.vic.gov.au

School Drop Offs and Pick Ups

We have concerns in regards to the way people are driving, parking and manoeuvring around the school and car parks during peak times. We have many small children and families trying to make their way into the school and their safety is our priority.

General road rules and common courtesy needs to apply when completing your pickup and drop offs. No double parking, no turning around in car parks, no U-turns over school crossings, no blocking in of disabled spaces. These are just a few examples of behaviour that has been witnessed by parents, staff, and students.

PLEASE consider the safety of others!

School Tours

Due to cancellations last term, we have opened up two additional School Tours for this term. Please see Try Booking (https://www.trybooking.com/BTAJA) for more details and to book.
