Remote Learning Update
Due to the ongoing level of community transmission and the continued number of unlinked cases popping up across the state, Victoria’s lockdown will be extended. The premier also went on to announce that School would not be returning in Term 3. As such, remote learning for our community will continue as it has been over the past weeks.
There are currently no changes to the guidelines around on-site learning and the process to apply still remains in place.
On a positive note, playgrounds are open for children under 12 with only one parent or carer, and adults should not remove their masks to eat or drink. Playgrounds will also have QR codes for checking in.
End of Term 3
With the end of Term 3 approaching, it is timely to remind you that the last day is Friday 17th September. School will finish at 2:20pm and the holidays will start!
Last week Minister Merlino announced that Victorian students are continuing to outperform other states and lead the nation in education with the 2021 NAPLAN results confirming the Andrews Labor Government’s Education State reforms are producing real results.
Victoria’s primary schools achieved the best results in the country in seven out of 10 measures, up from 2018. Victoria’s secondary results also showed improvements in key areas. In the critical domains of reading, writing and numeracy, Year 7 students are the best in the country and have improved since last year.
Congratulations to our PCC students as you have continued to improve your relative growth in all areas of NAPLAN (Reading, Writing, Spelling, Numeracy and Grammar & Punctuation) and you are above state level in 4 out of the 5 areas.
The paper copies of this year’s NAPLAN results have arrived at the college and will be handed out to those students who participated upon return to onsite learning.
Are you OK Day
Thursday 9th September 2021 is ‘R U OK? Day’. It is a national day to inspire all people of all backgrounds to ask each other 'Are you OK?'
It's a day of action which aims to prevent suicide by encouraging Australians to connect and help stop little problems turning into big ones.
Next Thursday we want everyone in the PCC community, students and caters, to ask family, friends and colleagues: "Are you OK?".
Are you not sure how or when to ask ‘R U OK?’
Take this quick quiz and you may feel more confident.
Fathers Day Celebration
Today we celebrated Fathers Day by students dressing up as their dad, or a special figure In their lives. It was great to see so many of our students getting involved and making the most of yet another fun way to engage with their peers and have a smile. Check out our Facebook for some pictures of the day!
