PCC Bulletin - Term 4, Week 6

Principals Message
Week 6 was another busy week onsite. School has been a buzz of energy and excitement. It has been amazing to see how reillient our students have become.

You will have received a compass notification yesterday, advising families of the change of date for the previously postponed curriculum day. For those of you who may have missed it, please note that the new date is Monday 29th November.

This week we were also advised that PCC was selected by the Department for the Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) Program in Schools. This program aims to reduce the amount of time students are offsite if they are considered a close primary contact. We have had many families take up this program, and we are excited that our community has been able to play its part in potentially improving student outcomes across the state.

Lastly, but absolutely not least, we celebrated Rememberence Day. Our College Captains took the school through a ceremony that recognised and honoured our armed forces. Followed by a minute silence. They did an amazing job. Lest We Forget.

Have a great weekend!

Shade Sail Grant
Point Cook College recently applied for a Grant to receive funds to contribute to a new shaded outdoor learning space. This week, we found out we were successful for this grant, and can now commence planning for this project. We will keep you up to date as the process continues and when possible, provide drawings of what's to come. Watch this space!

Smile Squad Dental Care

Smile Squad is a Victorian Government program that provides free dental care to all primary, secondary and special school students enrolled in public schools across Victoria.

The Covid-19 pandemic has not been a suitable time to have the Smile Squad vans on site, but a delivery of dental packs can provide your students with the tools they need for good long term oral health.

In the coming weeks your child will receive a Smile Squad dental pack. The pack includes all the tools your child needs for good oral health – a full sized tube of toothpaste, a toothbrush and a brochure full of helpful hints and tips for a healthy smile.

For more information on the program you can visit the Smile Squad website at: www.smilesquad.vic.gov.au
