PCC Bulletin - Term 1, Week 6

Happy International Women's Day (IWD) - gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.

We hope that all the women in our community had a great IWD!

IWD is a global day where we stop to celebrate and acknowledge the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of all women.

Every day we have the opportunity to positively influence and accelerate gender parity and break the bias. IWD is a day where we stop to acknowledge and thank all the amazing women in our College community and all the amazing women past and present in our lives.

Please view our small token of appreciation:

College Teacher Vacancies

We continue to thank our parents/carers and students of classes that have not been filled by permanent teachers. We assure you that the college is working hard to recruit quality teacher vacancies.

As already communicated, Victoria is in the middle of a teacher/ staff shortage due to COVID-19. At the start of this year, the College had 16 classroom teacher position vacancies and over the weeks have worked incredibly hard to employ only quality teachers to work with all our staff and students..

We would like to thank our amazing parent and carer community for all your support, understanding and patience through this time. We understand that this has been challenging for the parents, carers and students without a classroom teacher, but all CRT teachers receive support to ensure that teaching and learning across every class strongly continues.

We thank our community for all their support and understanding, as we become closer to filling all vacancies across our college.

Continuous Goals

In Week 7, we begin our continuous goals. More information will be distributed through Compass.

Car Parks

We remind our community that our car parks are reserved for staff and parents and carers who have permission to park in disabled car parks. All too often, cars enter our car parks and park in our diabled spots, inhibiting the use of those who are meant to use them. Please be considerate of this and oly park in our diabled car parks if you are authorised to.

We also please ask for our parents and carers to please not walk through car parks before and after school, as cars (trades, facilities, other) are often entering and exiting our premises. We have had some near misses over the past few weeks and want to ensure that our community remains safe.

Parent Online Conferences

We thank all our parents and carers who booked in to speak with their teacher to discuss and update staff on the need to know information to better support your child in the classroom. We really appreciate the partnership with our parent and carer community to ensure that we do the very best for your child/ren.

Please feel free to continue to speak with your child/ren’s teacher(s) where necessary  to ensure that together, we do our very best to support your child/ren.

One of the main priorities of our College is student wellbeing. The college invests heavily in supporting our staff to support students to be more resilient, mindful, empathetic and grateful. As a college, we work with our students to ensure we take every opportunity to achieve this. As a result, the college has organized a parent/carer webinar to empower our parents and carers to do the same.

The Resilience Project (TRP) - Parent Webinar

We are extremely excited to have Hugh Van Cyclenburg facilitating and hosting our Parent Webinar which aims to empower our wider community to further support our children outside the school environment.
