The canteen will also continue to be open for over the counter service from Term 2, beginning Tuesday 26th April.

We strongly encourage students and teachers to dress in their house colours. This does not limit students to just colours but also a dress up. For example, if you are in Middleton (Green) you could dress up as the hulk. Please remind students to be mindful of what they wear as we don’t want their outfit to have any effect on their participation in events. We also encourage blankets and jackets as it might be cold! However, THIS IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP SAFE!

Easter Hat Parade
The Prep-4 students will be joining an ‘Easter Hat Parade’ on the last day of school (Friday 8th April) to celebrate Easter before we break for the school holidays!

All Prep-4 students are encouraged to bring their favorite easter hat to school next Friday! This hat can be their favourite easter hat from their childhood, one they have made, brought or been given.

The Parade will begin at 9am. Parents are welcome to join in our celebration, please enter via the gate on Tom Roberts Parade (next to our staff car park).

We cannot wait to see all of the fabulous easter hats!

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge 2022
The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open and Point Cook College is excited to be participating. The PRC site offers a range of exciting features including:

  • access to a library catalogue (including book images and blurbs)
  • a modern user-friendly interface
  • rewarding  students with badges as challenge milestones are achieved
  • the option for students to mark books as a favourite, give them a star rating or complete a book review

The Challenge is open to all Victorian children from birth to Year 10 in recognition of the importance of reading for literacy development. It is not a competition, but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by 26 August 2022.

Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ 30 books with their parents and teachers. Children from Year 3 to Year 10 are challenged to read 15 books.

All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers.

Positive Start Camp Program
A positive transition back to school is always important but, given the disruption of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic response, schools are being supported to provide positive experiences to reengage students with learning in 2022 and boost their physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

Over the last few years, many schools have had to cancel activities that promote engagement in learning and support socio-emotional development, such as camps, excursions, intra- and inter-school sporting events, music, drama and dance performances, as well as outdoor play.

The Victorian Government’s Positive Start in 2022 initiative will support schools to provide additional camps, sports programs and cultural experiences for Victorian students.

Places are limited, so if you are interested in this opportunity for your child or children, register your interest as soon as possible.

For further information, including how to register, visit: https://vacsdata.educationapps.vic.gov.au/PositiveStartHolidayCamps/

Once you register your interest, the Department of Education and Training will send you more information about available programs and how you can secure a booking
